Membership and Engagement update (for federations and WIs)
Following National Council we are delighted to announce that the Conversation Café guidance is ready to launch. Conversation Cafés are a way WIs can offer friendship and support to refugee women using a model that is similar to a sub-group. More details can be found in the guidance, which will be available on My WI from Monday 12 December: shorturl.at/bijN7
This follows the 16 days of Action which is part of the No More Violence Against Women campaign and is the Monday following Human Rights Day (Saturday 10 December). There will also be information on My WI about the NFWI small Conversation Café grant.

Let’s spread some festive cheer this year!
The Big Lunch at Christmas is about sharing food and friendship with people in your community over the festive season. It’s a busy time of year, but for some it can feel quite lonely, so taking the time to say hello to a neighbour over mince pies or a shared meal is a great way to keep connected over Christmas.
Every June, The Big Lunch brings millions of people together to share friendship, food and fun as the UK’s annual celebration for neighbours and communities. This year, Eden Project Communities, the people behind The Big Lunch, are encouraging everyone to join in with The Big Lunch at Christmas, to give us another opportunity to get together and celebrate our communities.
Your Big Lunch at Christmas could be as simple as enjoying tea with the neighbours or setting an extra place at your table for someone that lives alone.
