Organisation Of National Annual Meeting

This meeting is normally held annually at a venue determined by NFWI. At the meeting delegates from all around the country attend primarily to make their voices heard on the Resolution(s) chosen by members for debate the previous Autumn and to listen to some excellent Speakers. Of course there is always a business section adopting the accounts and Annual report. A lot of networking will go on with members from other Federations as well and many good ideas come from this meeting for your own WIs.

To determine who attends, the Federation is divided into links representing 4 WIs and a member is sought from the first named WI and if that is not forthcoming it goes down the list of each link to find someone who would like to go. Expenses for the delegate are paid by every WI making the same contribution and the pooling of fares. The delegate will then travel with us and of course meet other members from around the county. After the meeting the Delegate is asked to produce a short report on the meeting including the results of the voting on the resolution to the other WIs in her link.

The venue for the meeting moves round the Country and then from time to time returns to the Royal Albert Hall. Whilst I have been involved we have been to Brighton, Liverpool, Cardiff, Bournemouth but have missed out on the Royal Albert Hall due to Coronavirus! Hopefully all will be back to normal next year.
